The role Leading the 'Table Reservations' product design and collaborating with other teams to build features such as charging extra fees and creating restaurant layouts to manage reservations.
The work include conceiving and designing new features, conducting user validations and interview, refining the experience and implementing changes according to our findings working closely with the users and developers, etc.
The main goal is enabled users to manage incoming reservations from the website, in-house, and walk-ins effectively by adding available tables that match the reservation details
The challenge The users are diverse. Some users are familiar with complex systems and use partners to configure their systems, and some users are still using pen and paper to manage their shift. The challenge is to find the balance between being an informative and professional system, but still easy and clear to use for less techy users.
Floor plan - It's about time
From the basic. At the beginning of the 'Table Reservations' journey, the product had very basic capabilities. Managing a restaurant requires smart management and coordination of food, cooks, waitstaff, bartenders, and hosts
Shadowed restaurant shifts. To truly understand the culinary world, we not only listened to user feedback but also shadowed restaurant shifts, immersing ourselves in the dynamic atmosphere and asking questions.
The conclusion is that having a Floor Plan feature will allow restaurant owners and hosts to see current and future table activities. This will help them prepare effectively for each new shift.
Product capabilities. This product allows users to manage the restaurant host view, create the restaurant floor plan, and combine tables under one reservation, all from mobile and tablet devices.
